Happy New Year, oh luminous ones!
You know 2017 is gonna be a good year when all of these elements align at the stroke of midnight - sitting around a cozy campfire with my wild woods man, tucked away in the wilderness, NYC's skyline illuminated with fireworks in the distance, and nature's confetti in the form of snowflakes floating down around you, creating a soft twinkling sound akin to crystals falling on the crisp winter's earth. Nesting under a snowy starlit sky, cuddled under wool's warmth, I was happy to brave the below freezing temps for this surreal NYE experience. Here's to spending more time outdoors in 2017!
Just because 2016 got a bad rap, doesn't mean it only encompassed negative, soul-crushing lessons. Poor 2016. It tried, really. It did. But ultimately, a lot of us feel betrayed by 2016. There's a lot that went wrong, on a more universal level. But there's also a lot that went right. The negative shade of 2016 has taken over, but that's not the end all be all of the year. We can still excavate the nuggets of wealth that this year served up, in all of their myriad manifestations. Perspective, people - it makes all the difference. That's something I learned in 2016, and here's another 16 to hopefully inspire your own reflections on what you gathered from this year we're about to lay to rest.

Hello & happy holidays!
Feelin’ that frenetic holiday energy, for better or for worse? For those of you who absolutely love this time of year and nothing can bring down your spirits – more power to ya! For most of us, this time of year is at once exciting and exhausting. Everyone, please remember to take care of yourselves, whatever that means to you. A few deep breaths and a cup of herbal tea, your favorite (insert movement method here) class or a quiet stroll through your favorite nature spot can make all the difference right now. Take the time to disconnect from the hustlin’ holidays and reconnect with your beautiful selves. Then, maybe you’ll be able to attend those chaotic, ultra triggering family holiday parties in a more grounded, compassionate and patient manner.

Oh, how I love the effortless synchronicity of this latest Lumen Letter! Who would've thought cups make such a sweet threadline?!
Hey there friends,
It’s been quite the week…
Take a deep breath for yourself, for others, for our world.
Wherever you are on this planet and on whatever side of the spectrum your values, beliefs, and opinions land on, we’ve all felt the wave of these election results. Not wanting to let Lumen Letters get all political, I’m refraining from making any one-sided statements. At the end of the day, we’re all human beings…let us not forget that in the days to come.
“I break all spells that keep me asleep to my own magic.”
Hello my little pretties! A new moon, a new Lumen Letter.
Cold water therapy, forest kindergarten, & Samhain.
