Full Moon No. 12, Winter
May your year ahead be filled with insights, to gather and glean. Weaving these wisdoms into the tapestry of your own lives, to design and re-design your luminous architecture.
Read my first Lumen Letter of the new year for some personal reflections on what 2017 taught me. After last year’s 16 Things I Learned in 2016 letter, I thought I’d make a tradition out of it and share my past year’s musings with you all. I hope this writing serves as inspiration for your own reflections on the past year as we move into 2018.
New Moon No. 8, Fall
Despite fall being my favorite season, I can promise you I am not making out with a quintessential fall leaf in this photo. Just casually sippin' on some sweet spring water from Mt. Slide's spring in the Catskills! Now that I have your attention, read my Lumen Letter for reflection, earthing, and Otherworldliness!
Full Moon No. 8, Summer
Long time, no see my darlings!
The lull of summer is slipping away, I’m back in Brooklyn after my nearly two month hiatus, and I’m ready to dive into the focused energy of fall.
But first, we’ve got some serious catching up to do…
A poetic musing of my summer, this letter cues you into the ground I covered during my time away from NYC.
New Moon No. 6, Spring
"A weed is a plant whose virtue is not yet known."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
This new moon's Lumen Letter explores my growing interest in foraging and plant medicine - natural nootropics, nutritious movement & wildcrafting sage bundles.
Full Moon No. 6, Spring
I can't help but smile as the sun shines upon me and I witness the beauty of the natural world around me - budding and blossoming; each element, each life form experiencing it's process of growth in their own sense of timing and unique expression. The season of spring holds promise for the potential that resides within all of us.
New Moon No. 5, Spring
Heya & happy spring!
Maybe you didn’t notice the lack of Lumen Letters in your life over the past moon cycle or two. Perhaps you were feeling the need to nest just as much as I was. Rather than fight the natural draw I felt to hibernate from the external world during the late winter months, I listened to the seasons within my body and my body of work, which led to Lumen Letters also joining me in my hibernating phase. Seeing that Lumen Letters is a holistic health and wellness newsletter, it seemed pretty hypocritical for me to push through the painstakingly clear signs that I was not going to honor my own health and wellness by creating and sharing content in an uninspired state. So, I hibernated…hard. Now, I’m taking my cues from the budding ripeness of the spring season, slowly awakening from my deep rest of winter to meet spring with a fresh, renewed sense of self. And here I am, back with you, feeling yet again inspired to curate, write, and create!

Happy New Year, oh luminous ones!
You know 2017 is gonna be a good year when all of these elements align at the stroke of midnight - sitting around a cozy campfire with my wild woods man, tucked away in the wilderness, NYC's skyline illuminated with fireworks in the distance, and nature's confetti in the form of snowflakes floating down around you, creating a soft twinkling sound akin to crystals falling on the crisp winter's earth. Nesting under a snowy starlit sky, cuddled under wool's warmth, I was happy to brave the below freezing temps for this surreal NYE experience. Here's to spending more time outdoors in 2017!
